Packaging OperatorThe Packaging Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating automated packaging equipment to ensure products are packaged, documented, and stored according to quality, safety, and operational standards. This role supports production goals by maintaining productivity, monitoring equipment performance, ensuring product quality, retaining required samples, and keeping the work area clean and organized. The Packaging Operator collaborates closely with the Packaging Lead and Packaging Supervisor to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs), troubleshoot minor equipment issues, and provide operational flexibility by supporting other packaging and forklift functions as business needs require.Performance must reflect an appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below.Record product, packaging, and other information on specific forms and warehouse management systemsWork in a safe manner and follow all company rules and policies concerning safety and PPE.Maintain productivity and quality levels as set by the Packaging Supervisor.Conduct visual checks of machinery and escalate any issues to appropriate management.Keep all areas clean of any resin during your shiftIdentify damages and report overages/shortages for quality deficiencies.Be able to step into the Production Forklift Driver and/or Packaging Associate role as business needsEnsure samples are retained per SOPResponsible for the automated packaging line activitiesAble to troubleshoot minor malfunctions/make adjustments as neededCollaborate with Packaging Supervisor and Packaging lead on production goals/KPIsSupervisory Responsibilities: Not ApplicableCompetencies; Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA): To perform this role successfully, an individual must have experience achieving desired result(s) in their areas of responsibility. The requirements listed below are representative of observable behaviors and essential knowledge, skill, and abilities required of a successful incumbent within our culture.Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications:Education: High school diploma/GED (required)Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a warehouse and/or packaging environment (Required) Minimum 1 year of experience driving forklift (required) double forklift (preferred)Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to departmental work instructions and procedures. (Required)Functional knowledge of a production environment (Required)Functional knowledge of handling rail cars (Preferred)Basic computer skills (Required)Entry-level proficiency with technology, including the ability to learn and effectively use business software, mobile devices and operation systems (Required)Knowledge of proper PPE requirementsDemonstrates excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
