Junior Packaging Engineer

Summary Lidl US is searching for the next Junior Packaging Engineer (Internal: Engineering Analyst) to join our Branding & Packaging team . As an Engineering Analyst, you will play a key role in our private label ("store brand") packaging process, from initial packaging documentation to display case ("SRP") optimization. This fast‑paced, high‑impact role is based at our head office in Arlington, Virginia. Rather than developing and testing, you will collect and verify information with both internal and external teams, ensuring all assets meet Lidl packaging standards. What You’ll Do Oversee and manage assigned project and/or department data, ensuring it meets predetermined contractual or policy requirements Conduct data entry and data management for various department projects Assist with the development of training materials such as manuals, handbooks, presentations, diagrams, workflows, and project plans Partner with vendors to optimize our SRPs for store efficiency and appearance Collect and review all packaging files needed for artwork development – dielines, printing specifications, technical drawings, etc. – and submit them to the Branding & Packaging team Provide packaging subject‑matter expertise to internal teams Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Merchandising Apply knowledge of packaging materials and function to each project Review initial rounds of packaging artwork to ensure correct execution Organize job details, track milestones, and proactively raise questions and solutions as needed within the packaging development process Enter packaging information into Lidl US systems and actively address questions Apply critical thinking skills to proactively raise questions and propose solutions, producing high‑quality deliverables Perform other duties as assigned What You’ll Need Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Proficient in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work independently Strong project management and time management skills Knowledge of corrugated paperboard box creation and construction General to intermediate understanding of packaging components, structures, and materials Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace and Adobe Acrobat Understanding of the implementation of primary and secondary packaging Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or a related field 1–3 years of experience in a related field (including CPG or corrugate manufacturing) In lieu of a degree, 5+ years of experience in a related field will meet the education requirements Experience in or fundamental knowledge of packaging design in the private label or national brand environment Physical Job Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times Benefits Starting pay of $33.66 per hour (with potential to earn $38.47 per hour in the future) Medical, prescription, dental, and vision coverage Paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for sickness or vacation Dedicated training plans to ensure you are set up for success 401(k) plan with 5% company match Voluntary term life and AD&D insurance Total well‑being program DailyPay, a voluntary benefit allowing access to pay on your own schedule #J-18808-Ljbffr Lidl US
