Generator Material Inspector

Overview As a Generator Material Inspector, you will perform operations involving the inspection of all mechanical and electrical components in Turbine Generators with emphasis on the Generator Rotating Field. Essential Functions/Responsibilities Inspect machined work pieces to ensure conformance to specification Interpret parts drawings and follow written inspection instructions, quality requirements and customer specifications Measure dimensions such as length, height and distance between reference points, using precision instruments such as micrometer, caliper, dial indicator to ensure product meets specifications Locate reference point on part and measure dimensions, such as angle, arc and radii, using a combination of aids, such as surface plate, angle plates, parallel bars, gauge blocks, V-blocks and precision measuring instruments Complete all necessary inspection forms and reports Perform, as assigned, other similar or related duties Take note of any surface deposits, embedded foreign material, galling on the fits/face of the parts Inspect for high metal, pitting, deformation or mechanical damage like impact marks Inspect part for evidence of rubbing and foreign object damage & corrosion Inspect part for evidence of cracking/tears/ discoloration /delamination/ heat affected areas/ heavy grooving and wear Take photos of any abnormal, as found conditions and report defects observed Perform parts kitting and delivery to point of use Perform quantity count against bill of material Eligibility Requirements Ability to work 1st Shift (7-3:30pm) Ability to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to work overtime as required, including weekend shifts Willingness to wear personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, and safety shoes Qualifications/Requirements High School Diploma and at least 24 months of experience in manufacturing or quality role This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents and protected individuals (e.g., certain refugees and asylees)). This posting is expected to close on May 31, 2026, or thereafter. Note: This is a posting for a C Level, but based on experience, employees can be hired in at or progress to higher B and A levels.
