Our organization is actively seeking to fill a position for a Staff Physician specializing in Neurology. This role involves providing patient care, educating patients and their families, and engaging in relevant clinical research within the Neurology Service.

Recruitment/Relocation Incentive: This may be available for exceptionally qualified candidates.

This role also qualifies for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) .

The Staff Physician (Neurologist) will deliver comprehensive care to patients with neurological conditions. Responsibilities encompass all aspects of Ambulatory Care. Additional duties may include teaching medical students and residents, as well as supervising other healthcare providers. The majority of the physician's time will focus on patient care and education, while the remaining hours will be allocated for performance improvement initiatives, innovative research aimed at enhancing patient care, and activities necessary to maintain expertise in advanced neurology practices.

Recruitment/Relocation Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): May be available for highly qualified candidates.

Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): This position is eligible for the EDRP, which offers reimbursement for student loan payments. Candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria as outlined by VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within four months of their appointment. Approval of the program, award amounts (up to $200,000), and eligibility duration (one to five years) will be determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office following a review of the EDRP application. Previous EDRP participants are not eligible to apply.

EDRP Note: Previous EDRP participants are not eligible for this incentive.

Compensation: Competitive salary, annual performance bonuses, and regular salary increases.

Paid Time Off: Enjoy 50-55 days of paid time off annually, which includes 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays, and potentially 5 days of paid absence for Continuing Medical Education (CME).

Retirement Benefits: A traditional federal pension with a 5-year vesting period, along with a federal 401K plan that includes contributions of up to 5% from the organization.

Insurance Coverage: Comprehensive federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance options (many of which can be continued into retirement).

Licensure: Candidates must possess one full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory.

CME Reimbursement: Up to $1,000 per year for continuing medical education (must be full-time and board-certified).

Malpractice Coverage: Liability protection is provided at no cost, including tail coverage.

Contractual Obligations: There is no Physician Employment Contract, and there are no significant restrictions on moonlighting.

Work Schedule: To be determined, but typically Monday through Friday, Central Standard Time.
