Circulating OR Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position for a Circulating OR Nurse with experience in various surgical specialties including ENT, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, GYN, and Plastic Surgery. The competent Nurse practices independently in a clinical setting and is responsible for providing both routine and complex care while managing contingencies that arise in clinical environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS certification required (AHA only).
• ACLS certification required (AHA only).
• RN License in the state of TX or compact.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3 PM. Schedule may vary each day based on case start times.
