• Determine production schedule to fill BEO orders and seasonal mix of desserts and pastries for sale across campus entities
• Manage day-to-day operations of the bakery in a consistent, polite and professional manner
• Practical knowledge in scratch baking, recipe development and troubleshooting
• Assist in the control of food cost by practicing proper food preparation, food handling and minimizing waste
• Require strict adherence to health department sanitation and food guidelines
• Comply with standards of service and assist in assuring the same consistency with all staff and or bakers assistants
• Maintain cleanly work area, ensure coolers and freezers are organized and clean
• Receive, check in, and put away food orders as needed
• Responsible to ensure all equipment is working
• Cost all products developed
• Maintain daily waste logs
• Ensure proper pricing of goods sold
• Monitor product rotation and expiration dates
• Demonstrate ability to forecast, and order accordingly, minimizing waste
• Inventory product as needed- minimal monthly basis
• Ability to solve staff issues as they arise while maintaining effective relationships with management and staff
• Responsible for managing all bakery costs and to ensure that the bakery is not losing money
• Responsible for hiring in department as needed and upholding company policies and procedures with self and monitor with staff
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements Working knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to develop a successful bakery business

• Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses to alternative solutions and conclusions to a problem
• Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to perform a job
• The ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
• The ability to lift more than 50lbs.
• The ability to multitask and complete tasks assigned in a fast-paced environment

• The ability to communicate and coordinate well with others by displaying respect to customers and co-workers
• Standing for more than 8 hours
• Must have flexible hours and work weekends
• Honest, reliable, responsible, and dependable
• Job requires leading practical working environment along with self-guiding with little or no supervision.
• Must be detail oriented.

Education or Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED
• 3+ years of previous bakery production & management experience
• Serve Safe Manager Certification
