Position Overview

We are seeking a highly hands-on Lead for Tax to manage and coordinate our global tax process in partnership with third-party advisors, while also supporting key accounting activities. This role is execution-focused, requiring strong organization, disciplined process management, and the ability to work directly with financial data.

Responsibilities

Assist Accounting & Financial Close Activities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across global entities.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Perform detailed variance analysis and provide clear explanations of financial results and trends.
• Support revenue recognition analysis and related accounting considerations.
• Ensure integrity and accuracy of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Partner cross-functionally to improve close processes, reporting quality, and operational efficiency.
• Help strengthen and scale accounting processes as the company continues to grow.

Oversee Global Tax Coordination

• Manage the global tax calendar and coordinate deliverables with external tax advisors across multiple jurisdictions.
• Support quarterly and annual tax reporting processes, including foreign reporting packages and intercompany data collection.
• Review tax-related financial information for completeness, accuracy, and consistency prior to advisor submission.
• Partner with local finance teams to gather and validate statutory and tax-related information.
• Assist in analyzing the practical tax implications of intercompany transactions and global cash movements.
• Maintain working knowledge of key international tax concepts, including FDII, GILTI, Subpart F, and transfer pricing considerations.

Drive Analysis, Systems & Operational Excellence

• Perform hands-on Excel-based analysis, reconciliations, and modeling.
• Utilize ERP systems and financial data to support accounting and tax reporting needs.
• Maintain organized and audit-ready documentation across accounting and tax processes.
• Support ad hoc financial projects, reporting requests, and process improvement initiatives.
• Leverage technology and AI tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and workflow execution.

Required Skillsets

• This position requires commuting 4 days per week to our corporate headquarters located in Stamford, CT
• 5+ years of combined accounting and tax experience, with a strong emphasis on accounting and close operations.
• 2+ years of in-house experience within a multinational organization, preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting operations, including close management, reconciliations, variance analysis, and revenue recognition.
• Working knowledge of U.S. international tax concepts such as FDII, GILTI, Subpart F, and intercompany transactions.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong comfort working directly with large data sets and reconciliations.
• ERP experience required; NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience is a plus.
• Experience using AI tools or automation to improve workflows is highly valued.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
• Masters Degree in Tax preferred
• CPA required
