TECHNICIAN L2, CONTROLS

Location: Denver, CO, United States

Job Type: Full-Time, Year-Round

Pay Rate: $33.67 - $40.40 per hour (Competitive benefits package included)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Controls Technician L2 to join our team. In this role, you will troubleshoot, install, and repair pneumatic and digital HVAC controls to ensure commercial and facility systems operate at peak efficiency.

What You'll Do:

• Evaluate and Repair: Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and install HVAC controls (including fire and air quality systems) utilizing computers and associated software and hardware. Identify system failures and perform necessary repairs.
• Calibrate Systems: Adjust and calibrate HVAC controls to overcome system deficiencies and optimize operation based on current building use.
• Manage Work Orders: Review work orders, prioritize tasks, determine required supplies, and make purchases using company procurement procedures.
• Coordinate & Communicate: Collaborate effectively with on-site staff, facility management, and team members.
• HVAC & Ductwork: Work with and install HVAC systems; diagnose and modify repairs using blueprints while adhering to building codes (e.g., UBC) and standards. Fabricate, repair, and install interior ductwork, fittings, registers, venting, and pipe fittings.
• Site Safety: Prepare and clean up job sites (e.g., erecting scaffolding), maintaining strict safety standards for yourself and others, and safely disposing of waste and flammable materials.
• Cross-Training & Support: Perform work and cross-train in at least one other trade as an apprentice.
• Emergency & On-Call Response: Assist with snow removal efforts on a 24-hour on-call basis and respond to facility emergencies 24/7.
• Leadership Support: Under the direction of senior leadership (L3), assist with training and mentoring staff, bidding on and quoting requested work, inspecting independent contractor work for code compliance, and communicating with project managers.

What You’ll Need:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensure: Valid Colorado Driver’s License that meets company insurability standards.
• Experience: 2 to 10 years of related experience and training (L2 requires a minimum of four [4] years of experience).
• Physical Requirements: Ability, with or without accommodations, to meet the physical demands of the position.
