Do you read voraciously and enjoy synthesizing insights and evidence into concise, insightful communications? If you answered YES to all the above, we invite you to apply to the Robertson Foundation for a full-time position on our team. The Robertson Foundation: The Robertson Foundation is a private, family-led foundation established in 1996 by Julian Robertson and his wife, Josie. By taking a targeted yet creative approach to philanthropy, the Foundation aims to have a positive social and environmental impact and to create a legacy that reflects its values. At present, the Robertson Foundation is predominantly focused on grantmaking in medical sciences, environment and climate, and public education improvement. In its grantmaking, the Robertson Foundation seeks to optimize the potential impact of its grants. The Position: The Education Program Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring smooth operations and maintaining the high standard of rigor and responsiveness that defines the Education portfolio. Our team moves fast, thinks carefully, and operates across time zones. The Education Coordinator will need to hold the operational center of a distributed team while also engaging substantively with the ideas and questions driving our grantmaking. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable managing detailed logistics and producing high-quality research and written analysis. It is an ideal opportunity for an individual seeking exposure to the social impact sector—especially philanthropy and K-12 public education—who is highly organized, communicative, analytical, and eager to learn. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Administrative & Logistics Coordination Manage the work calendar of the Executive Director and Education Program Director, and two Senior Program Officers, including scheduling, preparation, and follow‑up for internal and external meetings. Coordinate travel arrangements and event logistics for convenings and site visits related to the Education portfolio. Organize internal team meetings: develop agendas, take notes, and track action items. Maintain internal intranet sites and filing systems (e.g., upload notes and contacts; keep files organized). Join external meetings to take notes and draft correspondence to external partners as requested. Contribute to a collaborative team culture through proactive communication, reliable follow‑through, and a willingness to support colleagues across the Foundation. Support expense reconciliation in coordination with the Finance team. Proof materials and documents as requested. Grants Management & Support Support the Education Program Director across multiple grants, including reviewing grantee information and data. Communicate with grantees to collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to maintain the Foundation's core records and promote grantee impact. Compile internal reports on grant performance and portfolio progress as needed. Strategize with colleagues to streamline and enhance grants management systems, databases, and workflows, grounded in a thorough understanding of existing processes, requirements, and team needs. Support the Education team’s maintenance of the GivingData grants database, entering grant information, managing workflows for grant requests, approvals, payments, and reports. Collaborate with the Grants Management team to ensure workflow requirements are met. Leverage LinkedIn to support the team in spotlighting and promoting the work of grantees. Research & Knowledge Development Conduct, review, and synthesize research on K-12 public education topics as directed by the Education Program Director. Actively contribute to the Education Portfolio's knowledge base by tracking existing research, emerging trends, and key developments in the field. Produce concise and insightful internal and external communications, including research summaries, briefs, and memoranda. Read broadly across education research, policy, and practice to inform the team's strategic thinking. Background and characteristics of strong candidates: B.A. minimum, with 3+ years of relevant work experience and/or recent post‑graduate experience. Strong interest in K-12 education and the Foundation's grantmaking approach and areas of funding. Excellent written communication, oral communication, and research skills. Demonstrated communication maturity, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate sensitive information and relationships with professionalism. Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail in all matters. Enjoys managing and implementing internal processes to increase efficiency. At least one year of experience coordinating event and travel logistics. Proactive and able to suggest solutions as issues arise both independently and in collaboration with others. Ability to handle confidential information with care and discretion. Adaptable to changing priorities and plans; able to use common sense and good judgment. Team-oriented mindset fostering trust, proactive communication, and shared success across program and administrative teams. Comfort with AI tools to increase efficiency and work output while always checking for accuracy. Generosity of spirit and a sense of humor! Compensation The position is full-time, with a preference for candidates based in NYC. The Foundation is currently on a hybrid schedule of at least one day/week in-office expected. Salary range for this position is $80,000 – $95,000. Includes an excellent benefits package including PPO healthcare, ample PTO, 401(k) contributions, and professional development opportunities. The Robertson Foundation values diversity and is committed to the recruitment and retention of individuals of diverse backgrounds, sex, race, religion, age, disability, gender identity, and sexual orientation. #J-18808-Ljbffr Philanthropy New York
