Physical Therapist

Job Summary:

The Physical Therapist manages a hospital-based inpatient and outpatient physical therapy clinic, providing skilled physical therapy evaluations and treatment plans. This role supports medical staff, participates in interdisciplinary teams, promotes professional development of department staff, and ensures compliance with corporate and regulatory guidelines. The Physical Therapist also coordinates an orthopedic specialty field clinic and collaborates on administrative processes to optimize department revenue and financial viability. Responsibilities:

• Manage inpatient and outpatient physical therapy clinic operations.
• Provide skilled physical therapy evaluations and develop treatment plans.
• Support medical staff and participate in interdisciplinary team functions.
• Promote a team atmosphere and professional development of staff.
• Optimize department revenue streams and manage expenses.
• Balance reporting, audits, and tracking measures with clinical demands.
• Ensure compliance with corporate, state, and federal physical therapy regulations.
• Coordinate orthopedic specialty field clinics, including referral screening and prioritization.
• Collaborate with corporate teams to develop administrative processes.
• Support organizational mission and corporate pillars of excellence.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Minimum of four years active, full-time patient care experience.
• Licensed and in good standing as a Physical Therapist in Alaska.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficient in use of office equipment and physical therapy modalities.
• Strong communication skills including ability to work with diverse cultural populations.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and produce professional documentation and correspondence.
• Competency in basic mathematical and computer skills including MS Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Previous managerial experience in a physical therapy or clinical setting.
• Experience coordinating specialty clinics or orthopedic services.
• Ability to travel to village-based clinics via small aircraft.

Special Considerations:

• Work environment includes hospital-based physical therapy department and village-based clinics.
• Village clinics require therapist to bring portable therapy equipment.
• Travel to remote locations by small, non-pressurized planes.

Scheduling:

• Full-time position with schedule determined by clinic needs.
