Medical Surgical Nurse Manager

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nurse Manager to lead our Medical Surgical nursing department. This role is responsible for delivering and directing safe, effective, and patient-centered care using the nursing process. The Nurse Manager oversees clinical and administrative operations, ensures staff competency, fosters a culture of collaboration, and drives quality outcomes aligned with organizational priorities.

Key responsibilities include managing daily operations and staff within the nursing unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and documentation, serving as a clinical leader and resource to nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and service excellence, recruiting, orienting, supervising, and evaluating staff performance, developing and maintaining department budget, staffing levels, and resource allocation, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based practices, leading and participating in quality improvement initiatives, maintaining effective communication with patients, families, staff, and physicians, actively supporting employee growth, performance recognition, and disciplinary processes when needed, and participating in community outreach and organizational representation as assigned.

Qualifications include an associate or bachelor of science in nursing (BSN preferred), current RN license in the state of Wisconsin, current BLS certification, minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in the department specialty, at least 2 years of supervisory or management experience, and advanced certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) as applicable to department.
