Key Responsibilities of the CT Technologist

• Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating scans, adhering to safety protocols
• Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging
• Prepare patients for scans and explain procedures to ensure comfort
• Insert IVs as necessary for tests
• Position patients appropriately, utilizing safe patient handling techniques
• Maintain accurate records in EPIC, ensuring images are correctly sent to the PACS system
• Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility

Requirements of the CT Technologist

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology
• Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• NYS licensure (must obtain prior to starting position)
• Two (2) years of experience
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience
• BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
