Job Title: Elementary Special Education Teacher (ASD)
Location: Excelsior Springs, Missouri
Start Date: August 24, 2026
Schedule: Full-Time (35+ hours per week)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Elementary Special Education Teacher to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a K–5 setting. This role involves working with a small, structured caseload while collaborating closely with paraprofessionals and school staff to deliver individualized instruction and behavioral support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement programming for students with ASD
• Maintain programming notebooks
• Develop and implement IEPs
• Collect data and use data to drive instructional practices
• Implement assistive technology and communication devices effectively
• Utilize visual supports and schedules
• Engage students in meaningful instructional activities using research-based best practices
• Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments and develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans
• Work cooperatively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to implement programming
• Attend professional development on effective instructional practices for students with ASD and implement skills effectively within the classroom setting
• Supervise Paraprofessionals in the ASD classroom

Caseload:

Approximately 8–11 students
Supported by 2–3 paraprofessionals

Qualifications:

Valid Missouri Special Education Teaching Certification (or ability to obtain)
Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder required.
Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs
