Member Specialist

Position Summary Provide member service at Sam’s Club and perform checkout duties, resolve member issues, promote club products and services, give guidance on self‑service technology, and process purchases, payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges. Responsibilities Maintain checkout, entrance, and exit areas, arranging and organizing merchandise, zoning the area, and ensuring a safe shopping environment. Identify member needs, verify membership cards, assist with purchasing decisions, locate merchandise, and transport items. Process member purchases, handle payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges according to company policies and procedures for different membership and payment types. Follow safety standards, conduct safety sweeps, report unsafe situations, and correct conditions. Handle merchandise properly, identify shrink and damages, and report them. Maintain accurate paperwork, logs, and other required documentation, and execute emergency response procedures. Ensure compliance with company security and safety practices, observe and communicate potential criminal activity. Assist in training Member Front‑Line Services associates on company processes, teach new technology and tool functionality, and deliver new program roll‑out training. Provide continuous learning and process improvement opportunities. Collaborate with managers, co‑workers, customers, and other business partners to set priorities, identify performance improvement opportunities, and adapt to change. Minimum Qualifications Retail experience including operating front‑end equipment (e.g., cash register). Experience working with mobile retail applications. The required minimum wage applicable to the job location will be met or exceeded. Additional compensation may be paid in premiums ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if criteria are met.
