Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, NIH, CPI preferred Must-Have: Strong assessment skills Experience with IV Pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing cabinets Description: The position is for a Med Surg Registered Nurse. The unit has a total of 25 beds. Patient ratios are 5-6:1 during the day and 6:1 at night. During the day, staffing includes 1 unit secretary and 2-3 PCTs. At night, staffing includes 2-3 PCTs. Types of equipment used include Sara Steady, Wound Vac, Tele Health, Virtual Sitter equipment, and remote telemetry. The documentation system utilized is Meditech. Scheduling requires availability every other weekend (Saturday, Sunday) with flexible weekdays. Floating policy is PRN, primarily between Med Surg units. Patient experience requirements include BSSR and hourly rounding. Advanced skills required include IV and foley catheter placement. The required uniform consists of black or royal blue scrubs. Unit-specific policies and guidelines are available for review. Additional information includes potential access to new equipment or technology, as well as the experience and tenure of the current staff.
