Travel Nurse RN - Rehabilitation - $1,472 per week

Overview TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN in Rehabilitation for a 13‑week assignment at a Rehabilitation Hospital in Harvey, Illinois. Job Details Specialty: Rehabilitation Discipline: RN Duration: 13 weeks Hours: 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Responsibilities Provide direct patient care to individuals with neurological, orthopedic, or other rehabilitation needs, including stroke recovery, spinal cord injuries, joint replacements, or brain injuries. Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other members of the rehab team to develop and implement personalized care plans that support patient recovery goals. Regularly assess patients' physical and mental condition, monitor vital signs, neurological function, and progress in therapy; adjust care plans as necessary based on patient response. Administer medications as prescribed, monitor for side effects, and ensure proper dosage and timely delivery; assist with pain management strategies to promote patient comfort during rehabilitation. Educate patients and families about recovery goals, rehabilitation techniques, safety precautions, and strategies to promote independence in daily activities. Respond to medical emergencies, including sudden changes in condition, respiratory distress, or cardiac issues, and act quickly to stabilize patients when needed. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records, documenting assessments, treatments, and progress toward rehabilitation goals in the electronic health record (EHR). Assist with discharge planning, ensuring patients and families are prepared for post‑discharge care, including home modifications, continued therapies, and follow‑up appointments. Work closely with interdisciplinary teams—including physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, case managers, and social workers—to provide comprehensive care tailored to each patient’s needs. Requirements & Qualifications Minimum 1 year of RN experience in a rehabilitation setting. BLS certification (mandatory). Additional certifications may be required before assignment. Must be eligible for state licensure. Physical ability to stand or walk for long periods, bend, stoop, and lift with proper body mechanics. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Empathetic, patient, and skilled in promoting recovery and independence.
