CNC Machine Operator

Location: Plainville, MA | Schedule: Full-time, on-site | Compensation: $23.00 – $27.00 per hour (commensurate with experience) Overview An established precision manufacturing facility in Plainville, MA is seeking a skilled and reliable CNC Machine Operator to run computer numerical control equipment—such as mills, lathes, or machining centers—producing high-quality metal or plastic components to exact engineering specifications in a clean, safety-focused production environment. What you'll do Load raw materials, secure workpieces, and operate CNC machinery to fabricate precision components Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job travelers to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining sequences Perform quality checks on finished parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, plug gauges) to ensure compliance with quality standards Monitor machine performance and tool wear during production runs; perform basic tool changes and minor wear offsets as needed Conduct daily basic machine maintenance (checking fluid levels, clearing chips) and maintain a clean, organized work area per 5S and OSHA safety guidelines Log production output, scrap counts, and quality inspection data into the shop floor tracking system Required qualifications 1–3+ years of hands-on experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing or machine shop environment Solid understanding of basic machining practices, feeds, and speeds Ability to accurately use and read manual precision measuring tools Strong practical math skills (decimals, fractions, and geometry) with meticulous attention to detail Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive motions, and safely lift up to 30–50 pounds High school diploma or equivalent required Preferred qualifications Familiarity with reading basic G-code and M-code is a plus Completion of a technical trade school program or machining certificate is highly preferred Compensation and benefits Competitive hourly rate of $23.00 – $27.00/hr, based on experience and skill level Stable, full-time employment at a conveniently located facility in Plainville, MA A structured, collaborative work environment with modern machining equipment Opportunities for ongoing technical learning and career development Why this role This position offers competitive pay, steady full-time hours, and a structured, collaborative environment with modern equipment and opportunities for continued technical growth. #J-18808-Ljbffr Software Placement Group, SPG
