Practice Administrator – Outpatient Practices – Albany, NY – FT Full time, Day Shift. The Manager of Practice Administration is responsible for the efficient daily operations of assigned offices. Reporting to the Director of Practice Operations, the Practice Administrator is responsible for hiring and supervising support staff, overseeing day‑to‑day practice operations including maintenance of medical records, human resource management, property and facilities, equipment, billing and adheres to OSHA, JCAHO and DOH requirements. The role includes hiring and supervising support staff, overseeing day‑to‑day practice operations, maintaining medical records, managing human resources, property and facilities, equipment, billing, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, JCAHO and DOH requirements. All duties are performed in a courteous and professional manner consistent with St. Peter’s Health Partner’s Core Values. Responsibilities Collaborate and communicate effectively with Directors, Managers, and others and participate positively and proactively on operations and management committees. Wholely work closely with administration, serving as liaison between administration and physicians. Work closely with office management staff. Coordinate and communicate schedule changes to physicians, managers and administration. Serve as liaison between physicians and all other departments as required to meet operating needs. Work in a collaborative/team approach with providers to ensure their needs are met. Provide human resource management services for covered sites including, but not limited to: recruitment, orientation and support. Address performance and/or behavior issues appropriately. Complete annual performance evaluations. Involve the human resources department appropriately in employee relations issues. Coach, counsel and support employees and lead by example. Provide backup in the absence of other St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates management personnel. Work closely with administration, finance, human resources, and compliance/QA to communicate and execute practice-wide policies and procedures. Attend and participate in all required physician and management meetings and training sessions. Work closely with finance regarding monthly financial statements and site financial performance. Serve as a resource for physicians and staff with regard to EMR and EPM systems. Coordinate activities related to physician office participation in available incentive programs including Meaningful Use, Patient Centered Medical Home, and PQRS. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations as appropriate. Work cooperatively with all team members to ensure quality service at all times. Communicate respectfully and effectively with providers, clinical staff, colleagues, management staff, and others. Perform mandatory in‑service training including but not limited to OSHA and harassment, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Perform other duties as assigned. What you will need Minimum of 5 years management experience in the medical field. Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Excellent attention to detail and organization. Effective speaking and writing skills. Commitment to confidentiality and respect. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment. Understand and embrace a customer service focus. Ability to work independently, yet function collaboratively within a team. Education Associate’s degree required. Ability to lift 20 lbs. Pay Range $39.45 to $59.20 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
