Required Education Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or construction management preferred Required Experience 8 years of commercial construction estimating required

ABOUT THE ROLE

ALPA Construction is searching for an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team in Nashville, TN. The Construction Estimator will have the overall responsibility of supporting the Preconstruction Department and assisting on multiple individual projects during the budgeting and subcontract bidding phases of those projects. The ideal candidate for this role would be able to work under very tight time frames and responsible for handling multiple bids and responsibilities simultaneously.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Review and analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documents to accurately create a budget proposal to the client. Prioritize and organize deadlines for bidding requirements. Create, submit, and track prebid RFIs. Create bid forms to receive subcontractor proposals. Level subcontractor proposals to establish the correct budget. Coordinate with the project team to establish appropriate allowances in the budget for work not completely clear on the bidding documents. Perform quantity take-offs to review with subcontractors to confirm accurate scope Use quantity take-offs and company unit rates to establish budgets for work to be performed by internal tradesman. Solicit subcontractors for proposals to ensure competitive pricing is established. Represent the company on pre-bid walk-throughs to obtain pertinent information to execute an accurate proposal with existing conditions and owner’s requirements.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Proven ability to create a complete proposal for commercial construction projects Understanding of Request for Proposal (RFP) and assisting in the complete response Experience with Onscreen Take-Off preferred Prior experience with Building Connected preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 is required Experience with Bluebeam and Procore Construction software preferred Healthcare estimating experience preferred but not required Must have excellent communication skills and a natural ability to work in a fast-paced and growing environment Must be self-sufficient, detail oriented, and highly organized Must have the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
