Job Summary
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse Specialist Location: Not specified. This opportunity involves providing specialized care for neonatal patients in a Level III NICU setting, accommodating surgical cases, cooling protocols, and all respiratory modes. The role demands expert clinical skills in neonatal intensive care within a hospital environment.

Job Details

• Certifications: BLS, NRP.
• Education Requirements: Appropriate nursing licensure with valid CA license.
• Experience: 1 year of relevant clinical experience in neonatal or pediatric intensive care settings.
• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Schedule: 3 x 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM; No call, every other weekend, with float to pediatrics, PICU, or nursery.
• Required Qualifications: Valid CA nursing license, BLS, NRP, minimum 1-year clinical experience in NICU or similar setting.
• Additional Information: The role involves caring for surgical and respiratory patients aged 23 weeks and up, with responsibilities including ventilator management, line insertions such as PICC and umbilical lines, administering surfactants, steroids, managing Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, and performing specialized procedures like bronchoscopy and MRI. The unit supports interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services. Orientation includes 60 hours of training prior to start date.
