The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Part-time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years. Applicants in this pool will remain active for two years. After two years applicants will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool. Applicants must provide fingerprints to the local police department. The fees charged by DOJ and FBI for the fingerprint report are the employee’s responsibility. Fingerprint clearance must be received prior to the employee’s first day on the job. Job Title: Part Time - Mathematics / Statistics Instructor Location: Woodland Community College - Woodland, CA Responsibilities Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Mathematics and/or Statistics courses up to 10 hours/week. Organize and teach all levels of basic mathematics classes (also statistics if qualified). Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning. Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses. Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester. Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired. Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. Required Qualifications Master’s Degree in mathematics or applied mathematics. Bachelor’s in any of the above and Master’s in statistics, physics, or mathematics education (If the candidate has a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education, this Master’s degree must have been conferred from a mathematics department at the time that the candidate obtained the degree). Possess a California Community College Life Credential in the subject matter area of Mathematics. Equivalency Requirement: All applicants must meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba Community College District by the application filing date or have obtained an equivalency determination from the District before the publication of the Recruitment Announcement.
