Human Resources Coordinator

Position SummaryThe Human Resources Coordinator provides entry-level clerical and administrative support to the Office of People & Culture. This role supports daily HR operations including data entry, employee record maintenance, onboarding coordination, and general administrative tasks. The position works closely with the HR Generalist to ensure accurate and timely processing of HR transactions while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.This role is ideal for an individual beginning a career in Human Resources who is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn HR processes in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAdministrative & Clerical SupportMaintain and update employee records in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) (e.g., Paycom or equivalent)Perform data entry for personnel actions, status changes, and employee information updatesAssist with filing, scanning, and organizing HR documents (both electronic and physical)Prepare routine HR correspondence, reports, and formsOnboarding & Employee SupportAssist with new hire onboarding processes, including collecting required documentationCoordinate onboarding schedules and communicate with new hires regarding next stepsSupport employee inquiries by providing basic HR information and directing questions appropriatelyEnsure completion and tracking of required onboarding documentationPayroll & Compliance SupportAssist in reviewing timesheets and supporting payroll preparation processesHelp maintain compliance with HR policies and proceduresSupport audit preparation by organizing and retrieving employee recordsRecruitment SupportAssist with posting job openings and tracking applicantsCoordinate interview scheduling and candidate communicationsMaintain applicant tracking records and documentationGeneral Office SupportProvide front-line customer service for the HR office (in person, email, and phone)Support HR projects and initiatives as assignedPerform other administrative duties as needed to support the HR teamQualificationsMinimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent required0–2 years of administrative or clerical experience (HR experience preferred but not required)Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretionStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred QualificationsAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (in progress or completed)Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., Paycom or similar)Prior experience in a customer service or office support roleKey CompetenciesAttention to DetailConfidentiality & IntegrityOrganization & Time ManagementCustomer Service OrientationCommunication SkillsWillingness to LearnWorking ConditionsOffice environment with standard business hoursMay require occasional extended hours during peak HR cycles (e.g., onboarding, payroll deadlines)Why This Role MattersThe Human Resources Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the employee experience by ensuring HR processes run smoothly, accurately, and efficiently.
