Clinical Audiologist
Lake Forest Hearing
Job Description
Innovative Audiology Practice | Lake Forest, IL
\nFull-Time | In-Office (Not Remote)
\n \nAbout Us
\nLake Forest Hearing Professionals is a women-owned private practice with over 30 years of experience delivering comprehensive, evidence-based hearing healthcare. Over three decades in practice has allowed us to witness and actively participate in the evolution of audiology. We are committed to staying at the forefront of where the field is going next.
\n \nWe go far beyond hearing aids. Our clinical approach evaluates how patients hear, process sound, and manage listening effort, with a strong focus on the relationship between hearing, cognition, and brain health. Treatment plans may include amplification, counseling, and ear-to-brain training strategies designed to improve sound processing and real-world communication.
\n \nUnlike a traditional medical practice, our space is open-concept and intentionally designed to encourage conversation, education, and collaboration. As our clinical philosophy continues to evolve, so do our roles. We are looking for an audiologist who wants to grow with us, someone who is interested in being a thought partner in the ongoing evolution of treatment, not just a provider following a static model of care.
\n \nThe Opportunity
\nWe are seeking a full-time, in-office Audiologist (Au.D.) who wants to practice audiology differently. Someone interested in clinical excellence, cognitive-based hearing care, and the long-term evolution of the profession.
\n \nThis is a fully in-office position. The role is intentionally evolving as our clinical model grows, but it requires consistency, dependability, and emotional maturity. The ideal candidate is adaptable, thoughtful, and engaged. They are comfortable practicing in an open, patient-facing environment and committed to building long-term patient relationships.
\n \nKey Responsibilities
\nClinical Care & Diagnostics
\n- \n
- Comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, including audiometry, immittance, DPOAEs, speech-in-noise testing, and loudness discomfort levels \n
- Evaluation of auditory processing, listening effort, and cognitive load as part of comprehensive care \n
- Tinnitus diagnostics, counseling, and management (including use of a tinnometer) \n
- Development of individualized, clinically appropriate treatment plans—not just device recommendations \n
Amplification & Technology
\n- \n
- Selection, fitting, programming, verification, and counseling for hearing aids \n
- Ongoing hearing aid management and follow-up care \n
- Lyric fittings & continued care (training provided if needed) \n
- Hearing aid electroacoustic analysis \n
Procedures & Specialized Skills
\n- \n
- Cerumen management via earigtaor, suction or curette \n
- Earmold impressions beyond the second bend (experience with in-ear monitors and custom hearing protection preferred) \n
Collaboration & Practice Skills
\n- \n
- Active participation in an in-office, team-based clinical environment \n
- Clear, professional communication with patients and colleagues \n
- Contribution to the continued evolution of clinical workflows and patient experience \n
Who You Are
\n- \n
- Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) \n
- Licensed or license-eligible in Illinois \n
- Emotionally mature, dependable, and accountable \n
- Clinically confident and committed to evidence-based care \n
- Comfortable fitting hearing aids and building comprehensive treatment plans \n
- Strong communicator who values patient education and informed decision-making \n
- Comfortable practicing in an open-concept, patient-facing clinical environment \n
- Adaptable and open to evolving workflows and responsibilities \n
- Interested in the broader relationship between hearing, sound processing, and brain health \n
- Open to future leadership, management, or partnership opportunities \n
Compensation & Benefits
\nWe offer competitive, experience-based compensation and a personalized benefits approach. As a small, collaborative practice, we can work with each team member to tailor the balance of salary, time off, and other perks to fit their priorities. In addition, we reward performance with bonuses and other incentives, reflecting contributions to patient care, clinical excellence, and team success. We are looking for someone interested in a long-term role—growing with the team, contributing to evolving clinical practices, and shaping the future of patient care.
\n \nWhy Lake Forest Hearing Professionals?
\nIf you are passionate about treating the whole patient—not just hearing loss—and want to be part of a practice that values innovation, excellence, and growth, this is a rare opportunity to build a long-term, fulfilling career in audiology.
\n \nWe are building something special and we are looking for the right audiologist to grow with us.
