Medical Assistant - Digestive Health

Overview

The Medical Assistant I maintains department patient care supplies, ensures timely flow of patients, and assists physicians and nurses to provide optimal care to patients and families.
Qualifications

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)

Education: H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)


Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of routine direct patient care duties to assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.
• Maintain patient care environment and supplies to ensure patient privacy and safety.
• Collect breaths for breath tests once initiated by RN or CMA.
• Perform prior authorization process.
• Prep charts for visits and procedures.
• Assist with minor procedures such as flexible sigmoidoscopy, rectal ultrasound, and high resolution anoscopy.
• Perform and maintain competency of high level disinfection and sterilization processes.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $17.12per hour - $27.73per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
