Position Overview - CDL Class B Driver (Templeton, MA)

We are thrilled to present an opportunity for a CDL Class B Driver within our Commercial team.

This position involves operating our bulk trucks (Mobile Manufacturing Units) and installing blasting products at local construction sites, mines, and quarries, while also ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of the equipment.

This hybrid role comprises approximately 40% driving and 60% physical tasks related to the installation of blasting products. Key responsibilities include:

• Loading products and driving a Class B CDL truck.
• Pulling hoses and operating control systems of manufacturing units.
• Climbing on and off the bulk truck in various weather conditions.

Additionally, you will operate equipment to deliver blasting products, ensuring high-quality service while prioritizing safety and environmental responsibility in all operations.

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• Local driving (1-3 hours)
• Early morning starts between 3 AM and 5 AM
• Approximately 10-12 hours of work per day
• Overtime may be required
• Up to 10% overnight travel may be necessary

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking and replenishing fluid levels.
• Safely connect and disconnect trailers.
• Drive emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks.
• Ensure proper handling, usage, and storage of raw materials and hazardous goods.
• Minimize environmental impact through waste reduction and control.
• Report any unusual incidents or accidents immediately.
• Participate in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of one year of experience in driving and/or handling materials is preferred.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations is required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Attention to detail and basic math skills for daily inventory management.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks effectively.

Physical Requirements

• Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Lift up to 60 pounds and carry 50 pounds or more of products or materials.
• Load products, pull large hoses, fill holes, and climb on/off the truck.
• Shovel gravel to fill drilled holes consistently throughout the day.
• Engage in pushing and pulling while working with equipment.
• Frequent bending and squatting are required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Class B CDL; Class A is a plus.
• Tanker endorsement is preferred.
• Hazmat endorsement is preferred.
• We will assist in obtaining necessary endorsements.
• At least one year of driving experience is preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Compensation

• Hourly Pay Range: $28-34
• Signing Bonus: $4,500
• (Salary will be determined based on the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market alignment.)
