Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst - Job Description Role Overview A QA Analyst is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products by designing and executing test plans, identifying defects, and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues before release. Key Responsibilities Analyze business requirements and technical specifications Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts Perform manual and/or automated testing Identify, document, and track bugs using tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders Conduct functional, regression, integration, and system testing Validate fixes and perform re-testing Ensure compliance with quality standards and best practices Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field Proven experience in software testing or QA role Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC Knowledge of testing methodologies and tools Familiarity with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira) Basic knowledge of SQL and databases Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and documentation skills Preferred Skills Experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) Knowledge of programming languages (Java, Python, or JavaScript) Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman) Understanding of CI/CD pipelines ISTQB certification (optional but beneficial) Key Competencies Attention to detail Critical thinking Team collaboration Time management Adaptability in fast-paced environments Typical Tools Used Test Management: TestRail, Zephyr Bug Tracking: Jira, Bugzilla Automation: Selenium, Cypress API Testing: Postman Version Control: Git If you want, I can tailor this JD for: Freshers vs experienced candidates Manual QA vs Automation QA Specific company or industry (banking, healthcare, startups, etc #J-18808-Ljbffr Talentify.io
