This role is responsible for providing a variety of technical procedures and applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis for our UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for performing and analyzing patient x-rays and reporting results to Medical Providers. Additional responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care Centers. In a collaborative manner, the Radiologic Technologist will provide support to Medical Providers, Medical Assistants, and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.**Job Requirements*** High School Diploma required* Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program required* Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire, obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).* American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required at time of hire.* State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist is required at the time of hire (if applicable by state law).* Inform technical staff of patient flow.* Prepare patients for examination, which includes conducting interviews to verify patient information, record medical history; confirm purpose of visit.* Perform preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) for vital signs and escalate critical cases to the provider as needed.* Conduct point of care testing as needed (i.e., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG); and provide patient information to providers.When our customers enter our award-winning centers, they find a welcoming and comfortable environment, state-of-the-art technology and caring team members that help start the healing process immediately.
