For more information, visit: ResponsibilitiesGuide the development of Preliminary and final Design Plans for roadway projects including pavement restoration, ADA compliancy, Signing and Pavement markings, Multi-use Facilities for Pedestrians/Bicyclists, Work zone traffic control design, complete streets and drainage improvements.Coordination with and a general understanding of other disciplines including structures, signalization, environmental/permitting, lighting, utilities, Survey and Right-of-Way acquisition.Managing scope, schedule, budget, plans production and directing the engineering team as a technical and project lead.Ability to work in a team environment and actively assist, mentor, and support junior personnelDevelop contract specifications, cost estimates and preparation of contract bid documents.Provide Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) for engineering deliverablesCommunicate effectively and proactively to address client queriesSupport targeted and personalized outreach efforts for local and regional clients, while retaining and improving current client relationships.Establish client relationships and be involved with marketing and proposal development.QualificationsBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited universityNew York State Professional Engineer (PE) required10 + years of transportation design and project management experienceShall be self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and demonstrate leadership skills with a desire for growth.Proficiency and experience utilizing software applications (MicroStation, Open Roads, Civil 3D) with minimal guidance.Knowledge of NYSDOT’s Locally Administered Federal Aid project process a plusRequirementsMaintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final considerationRead, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English languageBasic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team membersAble to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working GPI offers excellent benefits, including a 401(k) plan, ESOP, medical/dental/vision plans, paid time off, and more.
