Job Title: Radiologic Technologist

Experience: Minimum 1 year
License: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and the advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT) or registry-eligible.
Certifications: BLS

Description:
Under general supervision, specializes in the performance of computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients.
May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations.
Responsibilities include explaining examination procedures to patients and preparing them for the examination.
Review clinical data on requisition and perform appropriate examinations.
Obtain additional information about the patient's medical history as necessary.
Prepare the procedure room and regularly replenish stock such as linen and related supplies.
Analyze anatomical structures of patients, set up equipment, and perform the CT scan.
Manually control the equipment to obtain the proper diagnostic information from the area of the body being studied.
Administer intravenous contrast media, including the utilization of power injectors.
Monitor patients for possible reactions and provide immediate care if a reaction occurs.
Prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for the procedure to be performed.
Ensure adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored.
Assist Radiologists in performing complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies.
Perform all imaging procedures by demonstrating the principles of radiation protection.
Resolve any image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery.
Complete all study indexing in the Radiology Information System.
Review and confirm clinical protocols with Radiologists before performing studies.
Demonstrate consistently high standards of excellence, including communication, teamwork, and respect.
Perform all documentation in the medical record and within the radiology information system to support all functions.
May work in a fixed unit or in an ambulatory mobile unit.
May be exposed to radiation and high-voltage equipment.
May encounter potentially contagious patients.
Occasionally lift and/or move equipment and/or patients exceeding 10 lbs.
Demonstrate flexibility, commitment to team concepts, and a willingness to learn.
