Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg Float Pool Full Time Days

Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care in an evidence‑based manner, performing the full nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—while coordinating with interdisciplinary teams and educating patients and families. Location Stanford Health Care – Tri‑Valley, United States Shift Day – 12‑hour shift Responsibilities Assess patients by collecting and documenting data through interviewing, history taking, personal needs, and physical examination. Obtain accurate assessment screening data and interpret findings as normal versus abnormal. Determine nursing diagnoses. Monitor and evaluate patient data as frequently as needed based on stability. Safely perform and document care plans using required nursing procedures consistent with standards of care. Evaluate effectiveness of interventions and monitor patients for adverse responses or side effects. Assess patient and family level of understanding and document information in clinical records. Create and maintain a healing climate by being present, managing discomforts, and providing emotional support and education. Teach self‑care and illness prevention information to patients and families. Recognize and communicate ethical or legal issues to appropriate authorities and complete incident reports. Provide care for all age‑related needs of patients, including growth and development principles. Attend meetings and serve on departmental or hospital committees as assigned. Support the achievement of departmental strategic and organizational goals. Execute the C‑I‑CARE standards of patient‑centered care and maintain a focus on exceptional patient and family experience. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. 1–2 years of prior acute‑care RN experience. Strong communication skills; ability to read, write, and understand English. Strong attention to detail. Problem‑solving and adaptability in changing environments. Proficiency with technology and information management to support decision‑making and error mitigation. Team‑oriented and autonomously competent. Ability to positively influence others to meet patient needs and achieve shared goals. Strong prioritization skills to deliver quality patient care. Knowledge of current health‑care practices, trends, and hospital administration for clinical management and leadership. Licenses & Certifications Active RN license in California (or equivalent compact state licensure). Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification. Pay Scale Generally starting at $77.69 – $95.52 per hour.
