Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 14 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Rotating (Evening/Night) Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years clinical experience, with at least 2 years in the specialty License: Current California RN license required Certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Strong emergency room experience, previous travel assignments preferred, experience with Epic documentation system required Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Room position. The unit has a total of 44 beds and cares for a diverse patient population. Nurses will encounter a variety of diagnoses including STEMI, stroke, trauma, syncope, and falls. The ideal candidate will have strong critical thinking skills and the ability to manage a fast-paced environment. Nurses must demonstrate excellent teamwork and communication skills. Advanced Practice Providers are present on the unit. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4. RN responsibilities include starting IVs, performing EKGs, and drawing blood when needed. Transporters are available 24/7, and respiratory therapy support is also available. Candidates should possess strong customer service skills as patient experience is a major focus. A professional appearance is required, with guidelines for scrubs, shoes, jewelry, hair, and nails to ensure a safe and functional work environment. Flexibility with shift variations is essential, as shifts may include start times of 1 PM, 3 PM, 5 PM, or 7 PM. Holiday requirements include 1 major holiday per calendar year, with no vacation requests being approved during the initial period. The average daily census in the emergency department is approximately 190-200 patients, with a fast patient turnover. Experience in trauma care and pediatrics is strongly preferred.
