Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Step Down Unit Duration: 48-hour contract Shift: Not specified Hours per Shift: Not specified Experience: 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: 2 years of experience in a similar role Description: The role involves caring for patients in a medical step down unit. The unit typically has 16-20 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 to 4. Expected patient conditions include sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, and respiratory failure. Other conditions to manage may include COPD, chronic kidney disease, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, substance abuse, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy. Candidates must hold ACLS and BLS certifications. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required for this position.
