Position Position: Fabricator Shift: Monday-Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm Employment Type: Full-Time Pay Rate: Starting at $19.00/hour + Full Benefits Package Location: Jamestown, ND Job Summary Set up and operate metal fabricating machines such as brakes, punches, rolls, shears, saws, and presses. Duties/Responsibilities Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation. Selects, positions, and secures dies, blades, cutters, and fixtures onto machine. Positions and clamps stops, guides, and turntables. Adjusts controls to set and regulate machining factors such as pressure and depth of ram stroke, adjustment rolls, blade angle, and machine speed. Locates and marks bending or cutting lines and reference points on workpiece. Positions workpiece against stops and guides or aligns layout marks with dies or cutting blades. Starts machine and observes machine operation to reposition workpiece, change dies, or adjust machine settings for multiple or successive passes. Helps unload incoming material from semi delivery trucks. Safe and proper use of forklifts, overhead chain hoists (powered and non-powered), hammers, pneumatic grinders, impact wrenches and drills, C-clamps, vice grips and other hand tools. Maintains a safe and clean working environment. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities Must be able to follow methods and procedures. Ability to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings. Ability to use a square or combination square, straightedge ruler and tape measure. Detail-oriented and consistent. Works well as a productive member of a team. Basic ability in mathematics, reading, and writing. Must have the ability to work rapidly and under pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements. Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Knowledge of manufacturing materials, processes, and specifications preferred. Mechanical experience is preferred. Physical Requirements Must have manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work. Must be able to see details at close range. Must be able to lift 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. Must be able to navigate facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials. Wear and work in personnel protective equipment. Work Environment Exposure to moving mechanical parts. Noise level is moderate to loud. Frequently exposed to airborne particles. Exposure to heat/humidity during summer months.
