Bartender

Assistant Restaurant/Catering Manager

ASM Global /SAVOR has an excellent and immediate opening for an Assistant Restaurant/Catering Manager at the Van Andel Arena, Grand Rapids, MI. This is a customer service focused role. Ideal candidates must have strong verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor. They must have prior bartending experience, be self-motivated and be able to stand for long periods of time. Candidate must be personable and guest service driven.

Essential Functions:

• Be responsible for mixing drinks to order and serving the guests
• Performs other duties assigned

Expectations:

• Must have good customer service skills and the ability to develop and enhance guest loyalty
• Must follow all SAVOR policies and procedures
• Must be present for all major and minor events at the Arena

Education & Experience:

• Previous bartending experience preferred

Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent guest service skills; ability to adhere to Service Standards of proper grooming and appearance
• Ability to complete required pre-employment food and alcohol service training (TIP's, Servsafe certification)
• Basic math skills; ability to accurately count change and balance bank
• Effective communication skills; ability to communicate with guests and receive orders
• Ability to work effectively with others
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and remain stationary for entire length of shift
• Constant walking, bending, reaching and repetitive motions
• Ability to perform normal lifting of stock, up to 50 pounds

Environmental Working Conditions:

• May be exposed to variable temperatures, including extreme heat and cold, depending on season
• May be required to work in confined and/or narrow spaces
