Fire Sprinkler Technician

Job Summary The Fire Sprinkler Technician is responsible for laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems, piping systems, fixtures, and industrial processing systems. Install pipe systems and valves Cut, thread, assemble, and bond piping and tubes according to specifications Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, and fittings Remove and replace worn components Follow blueprints to meet product specifications Calculate material measurements to verify specifications Mentor and coach Fire Sprinkler Fitter apprentice’s and helpers on proper installation techniques Ensure company‑provided vehicle is clean and well maintained in accordance with company policies Other duties may be assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (required) Advanced technical training or related experience (preferred) Current Fire Sprinkler License (required) Experience 3–5 years installing pipe systems and valves; 5+ years preferred. Skills and Abilities Work independently and as part of a team Basic math, mechanical aptitude, problem solving, customer service, decision making, multitasking, scheduling, planning, organization, troubleshooting, and training ability Communication Fluent in written and spoken English. Systems and Software Computer and tablet proficiency; read electronic blueprints Experience with Salesforce and Microsoft Office preferred Other Qualifications Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record Compliance with SFS’s drug and alcohol policy and background screening requirements Physical and Work Environment Physical requirements include bending, kneeling, lifting over 50 lbs, reaching, standing, walking, seeing in color, close and far distances, balance, crouch, drive, kneel, work at heights. Frequent local and regional travel required. Work may be inside and outside in hot/cold temperatures, loud noises, cramped quarters, dust, fumes, odors, electrical hazards, chemicals, moving machinery, uneven surfaces. All appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn as required by company safety policies.
