Job Description A dynamic opportunity awaits you in an inpatient setting, providing locum tenens coverage as an OB/GYN hospitalist in Santa Cruz, CA. This role primarily involves hospital call responsibilities with a focus on assisting low-risk obstetrical patients and collaborating with a Level III NICU. Bilingual providers are highly preferred to enhance communication with the diverse patient population. The position includes 24-hour in-house calls, approximately 6-8 times per month. Key Details Assignment Type: Locum Tenens Setting: Inpatient Start Date: July (availability required) Schedule: 24-hour in-house hospital call (6–8 calls per month) Patient Population: Mostly low-risk, underserved populations Location: Santa Cruz, CA Stipends: Housing and travel options can be discussed for non-local candidates Benefits Weekly direct deposit Malpractice insurance with tail coverage Supportive credentialing assistance Lodging and mileage reimbursement (if applicable) Flexible scheduling Job Responsibilities Provide obstetrical care and perform deliveries including C-sections Monitor labor progress and manage pitocin-assisted labors Assist with urgent OB/GYN cases during call shifts Collaborate with a team of perinatologists and neonatologists Qualifications Board Certified in OB/GYN (or truly Board Eligible) California state medical license Recent laborist experience required DEA, BLS, ACLS certifications Clean malpractice record A completed Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation Working Hours - 24-hour in-house shifts from 7:30 AM to 7:30 AM - 6–8 shifts per month, including weekends Skills Proficient in managing both vaginal and cesarean deliveries Skilled in handling urgent OB/GYN surgical cases Ability to work effectively in a high-paced hospital environment Bilingual ability is preferred to foster communication with diverse patient demographics
