What You'll Do

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) , you will:

• Assist individuals with personal care and activities of daily living, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, housekeeping, and community participation.
• Support individuals in achieving greater independence and reaching personal goals.
• Teach and reinforce daily living, social, communication, and adaptive skills.
• Promote dignity, privacy, respect, personal choice, and self-determination.
• Implement Individual Habilitation Plans (IHPs), behavioral support plans, and individualized service plans.
• Utilize positive behavioral support strategies to help individuals achieve desired outcomes.
• Administer medications and support prescribed healthcare programs in accordance with agency policies and regulations.
• Monitor and report changes in health, behavior, or overall well-being.
• Safely transport and accompany individuals to appointments, activities, employment sites, educational programs, and community events.
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in team meetings, training programs, and service planning activities.
• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where individuals can thrive.

QualificationsRequired

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to complete required training and certification requirements
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to person-centered services and community inclusion

Preferred

• Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field
• Previous experience supporting individuals with intellectual, developmental, behavioral health, or other special needs
• Experience implementing individualized service or behavioral support plans

Schedule

• Part-Time
• Flexible schedule based on program needs
• May include evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Additional hours may be available based on staffing needs

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, transfer, and assist with up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and assist individuals throughout the workday
• Ability to travel within the community as needed
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
