Main responsibilities:

• • Lead day-to-day operations of the Grocery Department, including Frozen, Dairy, and Liquor/Beer areas, ensuring efficient execution of merchandising, inventory, and customer service standards.
  • Champion and promote a customer-first culture by delivering exceptional service and supporting company customer service initiatives across the store.
  • Oversee inventory management, product ordering, stock replenishment, pricing compliance, product rotation, and shrink control to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Supervise, coach, train, schedule, and develop department employees while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Monitor departmental sales, labor performance, and financial results, using profit and loss information to support business decisions and promotional planning.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, security, operational, and company policy standards throughout the department and store.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, employees, and vendors while resolving concerns and supporting business objectives.
  • Serve as the store leader in the absence of the Store Director, directing overall store operations and supporting department managers to achieve sales and operational goals

• • Knowledge of retail grocery operations and merchandising practices.
  • Understanding of inventory management, pricing, product rotation, and shrink reduction strategies.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and workplace practices.
  • Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of profit and loss statements, business metrics, and financial management principles.
  • Proficiency with basic computer software and business systems
• Abilities :
• • Ability to lead large teams and drive operational results.
  • Ability to identify operational challenges, develop solutions, and implement short- and long-term business plans.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic retail environment.
  • Ability to analyze sales, labor, and financial performance data to drive business decisions.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift, move, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Educational requirements:
• • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional education in business, retail management, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant retail leadership experience will be considered.
• Other requirements:
• • Extensive retail experience with prior management responsibility in a retail environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee, sales, and company information.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to work in a temperature-controlled retail environment with occasional exposure to refrigerated, freezer, heated, and outdoor conditions.
