Location: Bogota Public Schools Bogota, New Jersey

Position Type: Full-Time, Tenure-Track (or Non-Tenure Track, if applicable)

Salary Range: $52,700 - $112,200, commensurate with experience, certifications, and advanced degrees, in accordance with the salary guide

Position Summary

Bogota Public Schools is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated New Jersey-certified Physics Teacher to join our high school science department. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, standards-aligned instruction that promotes scientific reasoning, problem-solving, and inquiry-based learning while supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of all students.

Qualifications

Valid New Jersey Teacher Certification in Physics (Standard or CE/CEAS)

Bachelor's degree in Physics, Science Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)

Demonstrated knowledge of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) for Science

Experience implementing inquiry-based, hands-on, and phenomenon-based instruction

Strong classroom management and student engagement skills

Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, administrators, and families

Commitment to equity, differentiation, and meeting the needs of diverse learners

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, rigorous physics instruction aligned to the NJSLS

Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including laboratory investigations and real-world applications

Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including students with IEPs and English Language Learners

Assess student learning using formative and summative assessments and use data to guide instruction

Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment

Collaborate with the science department on curriculum development and vertical alignment

Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school-based initiatives

Communicate regularly with students, families, and staff regarding student progress
