As an assistant diesel/CNG mechanic you will: Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment. Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts. Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs). Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns. Conduct safety checks on vehicles – the safety of every employee and community member is a top priority. Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times. Assist senior mechanics in the completion of project work. Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Qualifications A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Over 18 years of age. Legally eligible to work in the United States. Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Successfully complete and pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical. Work Environment & Physical Demands Required to exert physical effort including frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing; constantly standing, walking, and grasping; occasionally sitting and balancing. Exposed to physical occupational risks such as cuts, burns, and exposure to toxic chemicals. Exposed to environmental factors such as dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements.
