Registered Nurse New Graduate

Position Overview Department: Scotland Memorial Hospital - Medical Education: Residents & Fellows. Status: Full time. Shift: Various (United States of America). Minimum Requirements Current NC or Multistate RN licensure CPR Certification (preferred) Nationally recognized by ANCC; ACLS Graduate upon hire Responsibilities Assess all assigned patients within 1-2 hours of unit’s report, evaluating physical, mental health and reaction to illness and treatments. Apply age‑specific competency across lifespan: Neonatal/Infant, Pediatrics, Adolescence, Young Adult/Adult, Adult/Middle‑Aged, Geriatric. Initiate Nursing Care Plans within 8 hours of admission, identify problems, formulate nursing diagnoses. Individualize plan of care based on data, identified problems, goals with patient or family input. Formulate nursing orders specifying interventions for patient and family needs. Administer nursing care per MD orders and plan within hospital policies and procedures. Demonstrate technical skill and operational knowledge of procedures, medications, IV therapy, treatments, and equipment. Recognize and function appropriately under stress and crisis. Communicate verbally and in writing the assessment, plan, and patient response to all involved. Organize and schedule staff assignments, assuming management responsibilities when delegated. Facilitate and implement patient and family teaching. Identify additional patient care needs and coordinate activities with appropriate individuals or outside agencies. Anticipate psycho‑social and spiritual needs and arrange appropriate services. Evaluate patient status and interventions, modify care plan with team input. Record evaluation of patient response at least each shift. Assess patient and family preparedness for discharge, ensuring accuracy of records. Document legibly, submit variance reports, log charting errors, review narcotic control sheets, use approved terminology, sign off patient chart, co‑sign LPN documentation. Maintain department skill competencies and complete annual competency review. Demonstrate initiative to acquire new skills necessary for care.
