Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist

Job Description The incumbent of this position is responsible for providing day‑to‑day services under the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist (PSR) program, in accordance with State Regulatory directives, to clients with severe and persistent mental illness. Essential Job Functions Continuously monitors premises to ensure safety and sanitation requirements are maintained. Maintains a standard of behavior consistent with agency expectations and program philosophy. Ensures program expectations and curfews are adhered to and reports behaviors to the CPRC team. Facilitates PSR education sessions under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor and/or PSR Supervisor. Performs orientation, education, referral, record‑keeping functions, and participates in team planning. Plans, organizes and facilitates groups, outings or other activities to achieve program objectives. Acts as an advocate to the client in the implementation of the treatment plan under directions of CPRC Clinical Supervision and/or PSR Supervisor. Attends scheduled staff meetings. Serves as an appropriate role model for clients. Operates the van and/or vehicle for client transportation and business needs. Demonstrates interest in long‑term and short‑term goals and objectives of the company. Performs other duties assigned by the Clinical Supervisor, Program Director, and/or Executive Team member. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Thorough knowledge of case management and rehabilitation methods, principles, and techniques related to mental health services. Knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulations of the assigned program. Detailed knowledge of challenges faced by persons with mental illness in community living and how to access community resources. Considerable knowledge of methods and modalities as well as legal requirements and court procedures related to treating mental illnesses and substance abuse. Aptitude to develop, coordinate, and evaluate services within assigned program responsibilities. Ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively and produce concise reports. Experience and Education Qualifications High School education or equivalent and two (2) years of responsible employment history. Supervisory Requirements None Employment Requirements Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect and fingerprint check. Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment. Completion of all training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter. Current driver's license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance. Behavioral Management training completed within thirty (30) days of employment. Completion of "Direct Service Expectations" within 30 days of employment. Achievement of thirty‑six (36) hour training requirements within 2‑year period per 9 CSR 10-7.110 E 1. Growth and Development form (CPRC only) within thirty (30) days of employment. Privileging and Credentialing form (CPRC only) within thirty (30) days of employment. Within the first year of employment, receive training on valid driver’s license and appropriate age requirements for operating company‑owned vehicles: must be at least 21 years of age to operate a company‑owned vehicle and at least 23 years of age to operate a company‑owned fifteen‑passenger van. Physical Requirements ADA Consideration – Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up the 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shift. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
