Pharmacist in Alexandria, LA

Job Description

An opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to support a 200+ bed community hospital in Alexandria, LA. This 13-week contract position offers a fast-paced environment where your clinical expertise and leadership skills will directly impact patient care.

Schedule:

Four 10-hour shifts per week
Rotating shifts include: 6 AM–4:30 PM, 7 AM–5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM–11 PM
Every other weekend on call

Primary Responsibilities:

Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure workflow and compliance
Collaborate and consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding drug therapies
Perform pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring to optimize patient outcomes
Utilize EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis medication dispensing systems

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Valid Louisiana pharmacist license
Current hospital pharmacy experience preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail in a hospital setting
