Job Summary:
The position of Network Helper is an entry-level position that is ideal for candidates with less than one year or no prior experience in the low-voltage field. This position will assist experienced technicians in the installation, maintenance, testing, and support of low-voltage systems while developing foundational skills in structured cabling, fire alarm systems, fiber optics, security systems, and communications infrastructure.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

- Handle hand tools and power tools for basic low-voltage installation tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including job sites, vehicles, and tool inventory.
- Learn and apply basic low-voltage concepts under the guidance of experienced technicians.
- Assist with the installation of structured cabling systems, including Category cable, fiber optic cable, and associated hardware.
- Assist with the installation and support of fire alarm, access control, security, CCTV, nurse call, and communications systems.
- Pull, route, label, and organize low-voltage cabling.
- Assist with trenching, excavating, and underground pathway installation as needed.
- Install conduit, cable supports, sleeves, and raceway systems as directed.
- Saw, drill, cut, and prepare pathways for low-voltage installations.
- Assist with cable terminations, device installation, and equipment mounting under supervision.
- Perform all cleanup tasks as assigned.
- Receive, stage, and deliver materials to technicians and project teams.
- Assist with testing, troubleshooting, and documenting installed systems.
- Follow established safety standards and company procedures at all times.
- Read blueprints, floor plans, and installation drawings and apply knowledge when necessary.
- Move and install equipment, materials, and system components as assigned.
- Obtain the minimum tools required based on classification and ensure the tools required are accessible for the tasks performed.
- Support project teams with general labor and installation activities as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
- Knowledge of basic mathematical operations and calculations (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, order of operations) to calculate labor, materials, and/or cost estimates for projects and work orders, etc.
- Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in the English language at a 12th-grade level

Work Environment:
- This job operates in a construction job site environment and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions, or inside conditions.
- While performing this job's duties, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee may be occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites.
- Often exposed to loud sounds and noise levels as well as very bright or inadequate lighting conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
- Regular exposure to dirt, hazardous equipment, wiring, and underground and/or elevated heights.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day.
- Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
- Ability to wear company-approved Personal Protective Equipment per local, state, federal, or OSHA regulations.
- The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds.
- Requires the ability to perform physical duties listed above for extended periods.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Schedule and Required Travel:
- Requires the ability to report to job sites or offices throughout Florida.
- May be requested to work overtime, nights, and weekends.
