We are hiring a Patient Financial Access Facilitator for a contract opportunity in Old Saybrook, Connecticut . This role supports patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and front-end financial processes in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and experienced in managing patient information accurately while helping create a smooth and positive patient experience. Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage check-in, check-out, and registration updates. Based on general knowledge.
• Collect and verify demographic, insurance, and financial information to ensure accurate records and billing support. Based on general knowledge.
• Confirm patient identity and follow privacy, safety, and fraud-prevention procedures. Based on general knowledge.
• Schedule, reschedule, and adjust appointments based on provider availability and department guidelines. Based on general knowledge.
• Support patients with special accommodation needs, including interpreter or accessibility services. Based on general knowledge.
• Obtain required forms, signatures, authorizations, and related documentation. Based on general knowledge.
• Verify insurance coverage, explain patient financial responsibility, and collect copays or outstanding balances as needed. Based on general knowledge.
• Monitor waitlists and open appointment availability to help maximize scheduling efficiency. Based on general knowledge.
• Communicate effectively with clinical and administrative teams to ensure accurate appointment and registration details. Based on general knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in patient access, medical registration, scheduling, or healthcare front-desk support. Based on general knowledge.
• Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail. Based on general knowledge.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and scheduling systems. Based on general knowledge.

• Experience in patient registration, scheduling, financial clearance, or a similar healthcare access role.
• Working knowledge of insurance verification, payer guidelines, copay collection, and billing-related data entry requirements.
• Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to assist patients professionally in demanding situations.
• Ability to use multiple applications and online resources accurately while protecting confidential patient information.
• Familiarity with healthcare policies, compliance expectations, and identity verification practices in a medical setting.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills when handling appointments, documentation, reconciliations, and account updates.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical staff, administrative teams, and patients to support smooth operations.
• English communication skills required; Spanish language ability is helpful.
