Registered Nurse, Oncology

ARMStaffing is looking for a Registered Nurse, Oncology (Variable Shift) in Anchorage, Alaska.

Location: Anchorage, AK

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift: 3x12 variable shifts; weekend coverage may be more frequent than every other, subject to staffing needs.

Job Description: The Registered Nurse will provide exceptional patient care in the Oncology unit of a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma acute hospital with 407 staffed beds. The clinician will be responsible for administering chemotherapy and managing the care of oncology patients, utilizing the Epic charting system.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and related medications.
• Care for patients with various types of cancer, providing education and support to patients and families.
• Monitor and manage side effects of treatment and report any changes in patient status.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
• Maintain accurate patient records utilizing Epic.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in an oncology setting.
• Experience with chemotherapy administration.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current AK RN license (must be obtained within 48 hours of signing).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) chemotherapy certification preferred.
