Commercial Kitchen Equipment TechnicianThis full-time position would also require expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on commercial kitchen equipment throughout Crandall ISD. Additional responsibilities include conducting repairs on various facility systems, including plumbing, water systems, RPZ (Reduced Pressure Zone) assemblies, and boiler system updates. Minimum of a Journeyman license is required.Primary Purpose: Under general supervision, maintain the flow and drainage of water, air, and other gases by assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and plumbing fixtures districtwide. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all plumbing systems in district facilities.Qualifications: Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED Clear and valid Texas driver's license Texas Journeyman plumber license Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques Knowledge of plumbing codes Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics, and written reference material Ability to perform mathematical calculations Ability to diagnose and resolve problems Experience: Two (2) years experience in plumbing field and continuous education towards master plumber license.Major Responsibilities and Duties:Maintenance and RepairAssemble, install, maintain, and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating water, drainage, sprinkler and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection procedures.Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment including sinks, commodes, and water heaters. Install and repair kitchen equipment such as gas stoves and dishwashers.Receive and complete work orders. Select materials and hardware and make time and materials estimates. Maintain accurate records on material and labor used.Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.Work with building principals and supervisors to complete projects.Respond to emergency calls as needed.SafetyMaintain inventory of district-owned tools, equipment, and materials. Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment and ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.OtherBe available by phone, email, or video conferencing to confer with district personnel, students, and/or parents.Communicate with students or parents on a regular basis via phone or video conference, email, or district approved website.Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.Supervisory Responsibilities: None Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Tools/Equipment Used : Plumbing tools and equipment including pipe bender, propane torch; hand tools; power tools; heavy equipment including forklift, trencher, backhoe; light truck or van. Motion: Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders/scaffolding, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching; frequent driving. Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis. Environment: Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, frequent exposures to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, vibrations, and electrical hazards; work around gas lines; work around machinery with moving parts; may work in tight or enclosed spaces; may work alone; regularly work irregular hours; occasional prolonged hours; frequent districtwide travel.
