Senior Commercial Counsel

First in-house legal hire for fast growing AI platformWorking closely with senior business leaders on a daily basisAbout Our ClientAgentic-AI SaaS platorm.Job DescriptionLead the negotiation, drafting, and execution of a broad range of commercial agreements, including master services agreements, data processing agreements, order forms, amendments, and renewals.Review and respond to customer contract redlines in a timely and business-oriented manner.Develop and maintain contract playbooks, approved language libraries, and self-service templates to improve efficiency and consistency.Partner closely with sales and commercial stakeholders to support strategic transactions and drive successful deal outcomes.Manage external counsel on specialized legal matters, including international regulatory, compliance, and complex commercial issues.Advise on global privacy and data protection requirements, including jurisdiction-specific contractual obligations.Collaborate with customer success and account management teams on renewals, expansions, and ongoing customer relationships.Design and implement scalable legal processes that balance risk management with operational efficiency across a growing customer base.The Successful ApplicantJ.D. and strong academic credentials, with admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction preferred.Approximately 7-12 years of commercial and transactional legal experience, ideally gained within a high-growth technology or software environment.Extensive experience negotiating complex enterprise agreements, data processing agreements, privacy-related terms, and information security provisions.Demonstrated success developing contract playbooks, standardization initiatives, and scalable legal processes.Strong understanding of data privacy frameworks and cross-border commercial contracting.Comfortable operating as a business partner to sales and revenue teams in a fast-paced environment.Experience managing outside counsel and determining when matters should be handled internally versus escalated.Familiarity with information security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001 is preferred.International commercial experience, particularly supporting customers across multiple jurisdictions, is highly desirable.Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently while building a legal function from the ground up.What’s on OfferHybrid from NYC or Silicon ValleyCompetitive base salaryBonusEquityBenefitsContactJennifer PettigrewQuote job refJN-092026-7116188Job summaryFunctionLegalSubsectorLegal SubsectorIndustryTechnology Media & TelecomsLocationNew YorkContract typePermanentConsultant nameJennifer PettigrewJob referenceJN-092026-7116188Page ExecutiveJennifer Pettigrew Senior Partner Jennifer is a Senior Partner and Global Practice Leader for Page Executive’s Legal Practice, where she heads the U.S. In-House Attorney Recruitment Division.
