Basic X-Ray Machine Operator (BXMO)

Position Summary The X-Ray Technician functions as a Basic X-Ray Machine Operator (BXMO) with responsibility for operating X-Ray equipment for the purpose of diagnosing and treating patient disease/injury by the primary care provider. The BXMO will practice under the direct supervision and control of a licensed practitioner, only in that practitioner’s office. Description of Primary Responsibilities Responsible for patient care Responsible for inventory management Responsible for administrative duties Read and adhere to the Clinical Policy Manual Responsibilities include: Provide necessary medical services to patients of Palms Medical Group (PMG) within his/her scope of practice in accordance with stated policies, procedures and protocols of PMG and Florida State Statute 468.302. Maintain the Electronic Health Record (EHR) with up-to-date documentation of services provided. Exhibit professionalism when greeting and escorting patients to X-Ray suite. Perform basic radiology procedures. Provide patients with digital X-Ray discs if indicated. Maintain knowledge of inventory procedures and submit any order requests to the VP of Business Continuity & Client Relations and designated Clinical Care Coordinator. Maintain X-Ray suite, and order and restock radiological supplies. Maintain responsibility for the overall operation of the X-Ray suite. Maintain orderly and professional work areas. Maintain X-Ray tracking logs. Observe and follow OSHA standards and PMG Infection Control/Safety protocol. Promptly fax orders to Doctor’s Imaging Group along with patient encounter form before releasing the patient from the clinic. Assist the Clinical Care Coordinator, VP of Practice Management with data collection as necessary. Assist with audits, administer and collect surveys, and follow up with red charts as directed by the Clinical Care Coordinator. Perform any other duty assigned by the Clinical Care Coordinator, VP of Practice Management or CEO to improve the efficiency of PMG. Requirements The ideal candidate will have: Must be organized, self-motivated and detail oriented. Job duties require the ability to both works independently and as part of a team. May be expected to travel to and provide coverage for other PMG clinics during BXMO absences. Assist in the training and mentoring of coworkers by sharing knowledge, providing guidance, and supporting skill development. Professional & Technical Knowledge: Exhibit competency when utilizing the following equipment: Radiation Protective Equipment, Digital X-Ray, Image Receptors, Factor Selection, Copying Digital Image onto a CD, ECG, PFT, In-house hemoglobin, Lab centrifuge, AED, Autoclave, Vital Sign Machine, Nebulizer and accessories, Blood Glucometer, INR, In-house hemoglobin A1c, Oxygen tanks and accessories Comply with job competencies and skill checkoffs as part of annual evaluation. Expected to navigate and operate Microsoft Office suite products, including Word and Excel, and demonstrate other basic computer proficiency. Licenses & Certifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent Current Basic X-Ray Machine Operators License (BXMO) in the State of Florida Minimum of one (1) year experience in Primary Care setting preferred Current BLS (basic life support) Certification Current CNA, CMA, LPN, or RN Communications Skills: Effectively communicates complex and/or technical information to co-workers, patients and/or vendors Physical/Mental/Emotional Demands: Standing for long periods of time Sitting for long periods of time Viewing a computer monitor for long periods of time Bending Stretching / Reaching Lifting up to 50 pounds Operating office equipment (computer, fax machines, telephones and copy machines) Reading forms / Instructions / Patients Charts Communicating well to people of various ages, educational levels, cultural backgrounds in person or by telephone Exposure to potentially violent / irate patients Health / Safety Consideration of Position Exposure to chemical infectious / contagious illness Exposure to chemical and inhalation of antibiotics during reconstitution Exposure to X-Ray radiation Exposure to a variety of scents and odors Must utilize universal precaution in clinical or exposure situations as prescribed by federal state, and local guidelines and /or laws #J-18808-Ljbffr Palms Medical Group
