St. Mary's Healthcare has also been named a 2026 Times Union Top Workplace—the first acute care hospital in the Capital Region to earn the distinction since the Times Union launched the recognition program 14 years ago.Employment type: Per DiemShift: DaysHours per week: As scheduledHiring Range: $35.25- $47.18The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.Responsibilities• Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to produce cross-sectional images of the body.• Performs patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.• Enters and monitors patient data, transfers images from disk to magnetic media to produce the transparency and develops film in an automatic processor.• Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.• Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).• Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.• Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.Complexity of Work• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.Personal Protective EquipmentFollows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.EducationHigh school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.Minimum Qualifications Licensure / Certification / Registration• Required Credential(s):• BLS Provider obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.• Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the New York Department of Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.Required Skills and AttributesAbility to organize and establish day-to-day priorities while utilizing critical thinking skills in all aspects of the job.Must be able to multitask while remaining professional, focused, composed and positive.Excellent customer service skills and must display integrity, friendliness, and compassion.Must be able to establish an appropriate and effective rapport with others.Must be flexible to take initiative and embrace new opportunities to grow both personally and organizationally.Problem solving skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, ExcelStrong organizational skills.Effective interpersonal skills.Ability to work as part of a team and independently.Must be able to read and follow instructions.Must be able to speak, read, write and follow instructions in EnglishEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
